We are thrilled to announce the official launch of Remtek Training; the assistive technology training arm of Remtek Systems.
Assistive technology training has long been a part of the Remtek Systems offering and our new website showcases our professional training process, DSA advice and trainer profiles.
We asked Remtek Systems director, John Farrar what separates Remtek Training from other training providers in the industry. John explained:
“Remtek Training keeps the student at the centre of the process, working with the student to form a bespoke strategy, that is unique to them.
We have seen great success with this approach, with almost 500 students leaving us google reviews that have resulted in a 4.9 average.
We work with the student and based on their feedback, our trainers form a training plan that is completely focussed on their needs. We are delighted to be able share our approach and best practice through this new website. We now have a dedicated space for AT training. We hope to add to this website over coming months, using trainer and student feedback to create a portal of helpful advice.”
Remtek Systems General Manager Nick Dalli added “Involving students in the process and building a strategy in partnership is what sets our training offering apart.
Our student reviews, continuous feedback and ability to adjust the training for each student based on their strengths, weaknesses and area of study is unrivalled.
Each student is on a very unique journey, and we are committed to not only recommending appropriate software to support students but showing how that software can be applied to specific courses.”
A student quote highlighted “Support with John-Michael on customising Dragon NaturallySpeaking to help meet my needs as a doctoral candidate with repetitive strain injury has been invaluable to the completion of my thesis.
We worked on advanced scripting voice commands to minimise mouse use and keyboarding when working with quotations and with open-source reference management software.
John-Michael was also really helpful with recording Dragon commands for publication on the experience of working with RSI, and introducing me to how to use MindView and Dragon together, as well as supporting me with evaluating which Dragon input devices are best suited to complex needs of being neurodivergent too.
The training was fascinating, perfectly paced, and frequently met very niche problem-solving with interest, curiosity, tenacity and good humour – I always looked forward to our session and would be glad for the opportunity to learn more from John-Michael in future.”
